BBN IS IMMORAL?
Since the start of BBN, most people kept on with the show to see everything and get all juicy gossip to their friends and co workers. Others took to social media to get information on what went on in the house.
However, as well as a lot of people enjoyed the program, others discredited it on the basis of immortality and unidentified culture of Nigeria.
BBN selects people from various backgrounds to leave and cope with each other under the same roof.
I think it is a great way to make people learn to tolerate one another regardless of color, background or ethnic group. I don't think it was set up to make people carryout sexual act on live TV but since their are no restrictions to the way one acts, everyone watching sees this and reacts. BBN punishes people for breaking the house rules which is what happens in the real world but not the immoral act. Just as it is in Nigeria, no one gets punished for having a girlfriend, boyfriend, or lover. No on gets punished for infidelity except by the person who was offended.
During the Bigbrother Africa (BBA) celebrity episodes, nothing of the sort happened and if it did, it was discreet. Also in #BBA people like Karen (winner), Pam (winner), Uti (winner) and Goldie(RIP) participated and represented Nigeria well and they showcased our culture even to the extent of speaking Pidgin English.
Some people are of the opinion that sex sells, so I think they use this to get themselves to the top of the rank of viewers so that they can have the opportunity to win. It is an individual choice to be immoral on air or not. It is a choice to practice what you believe in and be ready to face the consequences when it comes.
BBN is not promoting immortality rather contestants (celebrities wannabe) are and a company which is after money would make the most of it.
BBN should know that it would go down well with most if these contents are limited and discreet. It would be great to also portray the culture of the country more so as to promote the Naija attached to the Big Brother.
This would show case the beauty of the show and not the negative. It would portray love and all the messed up things that comes with. It would show that regardless of who you are or where you are from, we can learn to live and tolerate each other.
Just my opinion. What is your take? Do you see anything good in #BBN or is it all bad?
