They Were Abandoned Because of Their Eye Colour

This beautiful Black woman with blue eyes was abandoned by her husband guess why? He left because of her the colour of her eyes.  Risiqat,  and her children Kaosarat and, Hassanat, were abandoned by their husband and father. Risiqat who said she sees clearly with her eyes regardless of the colour, lamented that her husband, who married her that way, changed when she gave birth to her second child who also has the same colour of eyes as her elder sister and mother. The mother of two, who spoke in Yoruba Language, said, “I was born with these eyes and I also gave birth to my children with same pair of eyes. Since I was born, I have never had any challenge with my eyes. I have never been to the hospital due to any discomfort. Jennifer Dairy Actor:Funke Akindele has been Arrested

This arrest was made based on the video she posted of her husband birthday party held at their home. The videos had a lot of Twitter fans angry at Funke's attitude towards the lockdown. Her fans posted her screen shorts after she deleted her thread.  Although Funke has apologized through she was still arraigned in court and was found guilty. She was to pay a fine or do community service.  We have been made aware through social media that Funke Akindele recently, acting in her personal capacity, had a celebration which is against the caution to the public on social distancing during the covid-19 pandemic.

Lean on Me Singer -Bill Withers is Died

Bill Withers, the soul singer behind 1970s hits like “Lean on Me,” “Lovely Day” and “Ain’t No Sunshine,” died on Monday in Los Angeles, his family said. He was 81. Mr. Withers, a three-time Grammy winner. According to The Association Press,  his family said he died of a heart  complication. “We are devastated by the loss of our beloved, devoted husband and father,” the family’s statement said. “A solitary man with a heart driven to connect to the world at large, with his poetry and music, he spoke honestly to people and connected them to each other.” After his de facto retirement from recording , he released his last album in 1985, after many battles with music industry executives. Mr. Withers entered the Grammy Hall of Fame in 1999 and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame  in 2015 by Stevie Wonder.

Coronavirus: Social Distancing enforcement by Lagos State Government

The Lagos State Government on Wednesday banned all religious gathering with over 50 people within the state. The decision was arrived at after a meeting of the government and religious bodies in the state. The religious bodies include the Christian Association of Nigeria and Muslim leaders. This is a wonderful development. If Lagos State government is enforcing this to reduce risk and prevent  COVID-19. We should support them by replicating this in our work place, events and so on. The spread around the world is fast and high so we need to be at alert.  I hope other state follow suit. What do you think of the ban?

Coronavirus: Canadian company announces COVID-19 vaccine candidate

A Canadian company says it has made a breakthrough , claiming to have developed a COVID-19 vaccine candidate that could begin human testing as early as this summer. Quebec City-based Medicago said it has produced a virus-like particle of the novel coronavirus, a first step towards producing a vaccine, which will now undergo pre-clinical testing for safety and efficacy. Medicago said it could begin human trials as soon as July or August if approved by Health Canada and other agencies. According to Global News, company CEO Bruce Clark told them that if the vaccine is successful it could be available to the wider public by November 2021. He  said Medicago researchers were able to produce a candidate vaccine within just 20 days of obtaining the gene of the virus and i f they are given the green light, they could produce as many as 10 million doses a month out of their plant in North Carolina. Highlights on Coronavirus Situation in Nigeria

According to Nigeria Center for Disease Control , Nigeria has only two confirmed cases and 0 death. Here are the highlights  On the 11th of March 2020,  no new  confirmed case of COVID-19 recorded in Nigeria Cummulatively, there are two (2) confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Nigeria Apart from the index case, a total of 40 people have been screened for COVID-19 (7 new) in 5 States (Edo, Lagos, Ogun, FCT and Kano) out of which 39 tested negative and have been ruled out, while one confirmed positive which is a contact of index case with no death The two confirmed cases are clinically stable at the designated treatment facility for COVID-19 at the Infectious Disease Hospital (IDH), Yaba, Lagos A multi-sectoral national emergency operations centre (EOC), activated at level 3, continues to coordinate the national response activities.
